YouTube’s Commenting System Now Based On Google+

On Wednesday Google announced that it is implementing the YouTube comment system change that users and video providers have been anticipating. The updated system is built on the Google identity platform and if users haven’t upgraded their channels, they can do so now.

With the new system Google says the comments “you care about” move to the top. Google knows what you care about. Got it?

When leaving a comment on YouTube, it’s now possible to choose if it post the message on Google+ as well and whom to share with it. Further, YouTube now offers the possibility to use rich text, by adding tags such as bold, italics and you’ll add some style to the comments.

Adding URL’s is possible as well. Outside links will appear as such, while YouTube video URL’s will show as a link using the title of the video. Comments can be edited or deleted completely, while now it’s also possible to disable reshares and replies. Video owners are provided with tolls to review comments before they’re posted and can block certain words, they can also auto-approve comments from certain fans. There are plenty of people, including those providing with videos that aren’t pleased with Google’s move.

This is Google’s effort to trim out the useless comments, the trolls and to force some quality on to the YouTube comments.

The New York Attorney general announced a crackdown after an investigation into businesses-SEO/ Marketing Firms and small businesses that create fake reviews and post them to sites like Yelp and Google.

The investigation ultimately caught 19 companies and has agreed to stop publishing fake online reviews and will also pay penalties ranging from $2,500 to almost $100,000 as part of settlement announced with the New York AG’s.

As most SEO’s know, reviews can not only make or break a company and persuade a potential customer into purchasing your product or not, but search engines also use review data to help them determine which companies should be displayed in the search results and more specifically in the business listings.

Although the investigation was targeted only at companies operating in New York, Yelp believes it will have wider implications, this shows that fake reviews are legitimate target of law enforcement. When it comes to SEO, a lot of people get duped and tricked into ranking schemes with false promises and tactics that end up hurting their business and going against the search engine terms and conditions.

SEO takes time and to do it right, one can’t expect results overnight. Little by little, the fake online review industry is cracking.

Top SEO tips to rank high in Google’s search engine

Google’s objective is to ensure that it is always delivering search results that users find relevant, interesting and also timely. In truth, no one but Google knows how to always be the number one result, and no one can guarantee that placement. However with proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy and tactics, you can dominate your Google results.

SEO-Tips

SEO Companies generally agree that off-page link building techniques can contribute around 80% of the effectiveness in any SEO campaign. Off-page optimization or building links is by the far most important activity for assisting us in getting our website well ranked in search engines. And the key driving force in this is backlinks.

How do I get the right links for SEO?

Successful SEO today revolves around an advanced strategy of content marketing. The more relevant content you can give to searchers for your products, services, company reputation expertise and proof of performance, the better chances you’ve for ranking when they searches for you.

SEO Tip #1:

Highly optimized Press Release:

Make it a really good press release that is rich with information that your target audience will click on should they see it Google or yahoo news. If the press release actually does have informational value, more sites and journalists will pick it up-and will probably post the links you placed in it.

SEO Tip #2:

Tweak your Title tags:

Don’t make the mistake so may sites make, which is to leave the default “Home Page” titles in the title tags of your website pages. These tags are a supremely important way to provide search engines with your information about your site’s content and purpose.

SEO Tip # 3:

Select your keywords on the basis of your website:

People use high ranked keywords without knowing if they are good for them or not. Try to use those keywords which people are searching. There are some tools for CMS websites that will let you choose the keywords like ‘Word Tracker’.

SEO Tip # 4:

Competitor Analysis:

Begin your link building campaign with a competitor analysis. Basically, you want to repeat what your best competitors are doing, as one of the key link building principles is to match and exceed your competitors. If you can go through and match all the links they have, or at least a majority of them, and find a couple of other ways to get additional links that they don’t have, you will be able to easily surpass them in searching ranking results.

SEO Tip #5:

Create a profile on every social network:

Compose tasteful LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter pages. For Twitter, put your name in your URL and handle. This will direct searchers to the information that’s most relevant about you and your business. Register your business on Yelp and other review databases pertinent to your company.

SEO Tip #6:

Make your website and social network profiles keyword rich:

Strike a balance between popular and unique search terms. To a reasonable extent, the more your keywords appear the better. If you overuse them, however, Google penalizes you by devaluing your page in its search algorithms. Everyday writing that references your name once or twice per paragraph is probably adequate.

SEO TIP #7:

Link to yourself and get linked by others:

Take advantage by putting links to all of your social networking pages on your website — and link your website on all of your social networking pages. To get linked by others, your best bet is to provide insight on topics that will interest your industry peers and customers, such as on your website or through a blog. The next best option is to ask your friends to link to your work.

SEO TIP #8:

Guest Blogging:

The general idea behind guest blogs is to get a link to your website posted on an already established website/blog. These links tend to carry more weight in Google because they are harder to acquire. Some sites will have very stringent requirements for the types of articles they will accept, so links from these sites have more value. Establishing relationships with reviewers, authors, professors, enthusiasts, topic experts or anyone else who is operating a website in your niche area, whether it be through social networking or message boards, is a great way to build a network of people who might be willing to reference your website in their content.

SEO Tip #9:

Vendors, Partners testimonials:

Always give online testimonials to your suppliers, business partners or anyone else you can give a testimonial to, as it is a great way to get free backlinks from legitimate websites. Include your strategic keywords into your testimonials and hyperlink it back to the appropriate webpage from your website.

SEO Tip #10:

Think like a customer:

What do you want on a site? Product offerings, hours and locations ? Creating a website that meets a customer needs first, will always ensure authenticity and best SEO practices.
